Types of rhyme

Here is a list of often used types of rhyme:

  1. End rhyme: last part of words/sentences are the same

  2. Begin rhyme: the first part of words/sentences are the same

  3. Internal rhyme: 2 words in the same sentence rhyme

  4. Metaphor: a word is used to describe/represent something else

  5. Antithesis: 2 words with opposite meanings

  6. Archaism: using old words

  7. Exaggeration

  8. Litotes: denying the negative to affirm the positive

  9. Comparison

  10. Synonyms

  11. Repetition: using the same word multiple times

  12. Personification: describing an object like it is a living person
